You can search three ways: by book title, by ISBN number, or by pasting an Amazon link. ISBN or Amazon links give the most precise results — here's how to find each one.
Option 1 — Book Title
1
Type the full title — or as much as you remember. The more specific, the better.
2
Adding the author's last name helps narrow results: Unwavering Kiland
3
If multiple books match, we'll show you a list — just pick the right one.
Short or common titles ("Lessons," "The Gift") return many results. Adding the author name or a subtitle word cuts through the noise quickly.
Option 2 — ISBN Number
1
Physical book: Flip to the back cover. Find the barcode — the 13-digit number printed below it is the ISBN. It starts with 978 or 979.
2
Kindle / ebook listing: Scroll to "Product Details" on the store page. Look for the row labeled "ISBN-13."
3
Goodreads: Open the book page → click "Details" — the ISBN is listed there.
4
Paste the number here — hyphens and spaces are fine, we strip them automatically.
ISBN-10 vs ISBN-13: Both work. Older books may only have a 10-digit version. Either is accepted. The 13-digit version is preferred.
Option 3 — Amazon Link or ASIN
1
Find the book on Amazon — no need to buy it, just open the product page.
2
Copy the URL from your browser's address bar. It looks like:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/0385737951/ref=…
3
Paste the whole URL — we extract the ASIN automatically (the part after /dp/).
4
Or just paste the ASIN directly: 0385737951 (10 characters, may include letters).
Where's the ASIN on the page? Scroll to "Product Details" on any Amazon book listing. The ASIN is listed there — always 10 characters.
If Your Search Isn't Working
- Add the author's last name after the title:
Atomic Habits Clear
- Include a subtitle keyword if the main title is very short or generic
- Switch to ISBN — it bypasses title ambiguity entirely
- New releases (last 30 days) may not yet be in Open Library — get the ISBN from the Amazon listing and try again
- For audiobook-only titles, try searching by author name + a keyword
